8. User-Provided Content and Links
When you use OpenToon, you may provide links, prompts, account information, glossary terms, reading preferences, feedback, and other information.
This is called “User Content.”
You retain whatever rights you already have in your User Content. However, by submitting User Content to OpenToon, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, host, store, reproduce, analyse, modify, translate, transmit, and otherwise use your User Content solely as necessary to provide, maintain, protect, support, and improve the Service.
This licence includes the right to process User Content through third-party infrastructure providers, AI model providers, analytics providers, payment processors, cloud services, security tools, and other vendors that help us operate OpenToon.

OpenToon processes content as necessary to provide the translation and reading experience. Some data may still be temporarily processed, cached, logged, transmitted, or handled by our systems or vendors for technical, security, billing, debugging, abuse prevention, analytics, legal compliance, or service operation purposes.
For example, we may process or retain account information, payment status, credit balances, usage records, error logs, device information, submitted links, support communications, and security logs.
We may also retain aggregated, anonymised, or de-identified information that does not identify you.
More information about how we handle personal data is provided in our Privacy Policy.
10. Copyright and Third-Party Rights

OpenToon does not endorse or authorise infringement.
If you use OpenToon with third-party content, you are responsible for making sure your use is lawful.
We may remove content, disable features, suspend accounts, limit access, or terminate users where we reasonably believe there is copyright infringement, suspected infringement, rights-holder complaints, platform policy risk, repeated misuse, or legal risk.
11. Adult and Mature Content
OpenToon may technically process web links that users choose to submit, including links to third-party content that may be adult, mature, explicit, violent, or otherwise unsuitable for minors.
OpenToon does not create, publish, endorse, or control third-party adult or mature content. Users choose which third-party websites and links they access.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that:
- you are legally permitted to access the content you submit;
- you meet any applicable age requirements;
- the content is lawful in your jurisdiction;
- your use of the content complies with the third-party website’s terms; and
- your use of OpenToon complies with these Terms.
You must not use OpenToon to access, translate, process, create, or distribute unlawful sexual content, child sexual abuse material, exploitative content, non-consensual sexual content, content involving minors, or any content that is illegal in your jurisdiction.
We may block, restrict, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe OpenToon is being used for unlawful, exploitative, abusive, or platform-prohibited content.
12. AI Translation Output
OpenToon uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to generate translations.
AI-generated translations may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, offensive, misleading, or unsuitable for your intended purpose. Names, pronouns, tone, cultural references, formatting, reading order, dialogue attribution, sound effects, and context may be translated incorrectly.
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any translation output before relying on it.
We do not guarantee that:
- translations will be accurate, complete, or error-free;
- translations will preserve the original meaning, tone, style, formatting, or intent;
- the Service will correctly identify speakers, bubbles, captions, sound effects, panels, or reading order;
- AI output will be free from bias, hallucinations, or inappropriate wording;
- any translation output will be suitable for publication or commercial use; or
- any translation output will be lawful for your specific use case.
You must not represent AI-generated translations from OpenToon as official, licensed, authorised, human-certified, publisher-approved, or rights-holder-approved translations unless you have separately obtained the necessary rights and approvals.
13. Third-Party AI Providers
OpenToon may use third-party AI model providers, infrastructure providers, cloud providers, analytics providers, and other vendors to operate the Service.
By using OpenToon, you acknowledge that your submitted links, extracted text, prompts, glossary terms, translation requests, outputs, usage data, and related information may be processed by third-party providers as necessary to provide the Service.
You must not submit confidential, highly sensitive, unlawful, private, or restricted information that you do not have permission to process through third-party AI systems.
We will take reasonable steps to protect user data, but we do not control every aspect of third-party AI providers’ systems, models, or outputs.

Payments may be processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, RevenueCat, or other payment providers.
Your purchase may also be subject to the terms, refund policies, billing rules, and dispute processes of the applicable app store or payment provider.

You are responsible for cancelling your subscription before renewal if you do not want to be charged again.

- are not transferable;
- may expire if stated at the time of purchase or in the app;

15. Refunds
For purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refund requests are handled according to the applicable app store’s rules and processes.
For purchases made on the web, refund requests may be considered at our discretion unless otherwise required by applicable law.

17. Usage Limits and Fair Use
OpenToon may include usage limits, credit limits, subscription limits, rate limits, daily limits, fair usage policies, device limits, or other restrictions.
We may change or enforce limits at any time to protect the Service, prevent abuse, manage costs, comply with law, maintain quality, or ensure fair access for other users.
You must not attempt to bypass usage limits through multiple accounts, automation, scripts, bots, modified clients, account sharing, payment abuse, or any other method.
18. Third-Party Websites and Services
OpenToon allows users to submit links to third-party websites.
We do not own, operate, control, or endorse third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, legality, accuracy, policies, pricing, security, or functionality.
Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk and may be subject to their own terms and policies.
OpenToon does not guarantee that any third-party website, source, link, chapter, image, text, or content format will be supported or continue to work.
Third-party websites may change, restrict access, block automated tools, remove content, modify layouts, impose technical limitations, or prevent OpenToon from functioning.
