This guide is for overseas readers outside of Korea, who want to buy manhwa or novels on Bomtoon, a Korean website where you can officially purchase raws.
Create an account or log in to Bomtoon
We recommend turning on the in-browser translator to navigate the website. On Chrome desktop, you can access the translator via the 3-dot menu and selecting "Translate...".
Go to Bomtoon and click on the user profile icon.
You can create an account using a social login (Google, Facebook) or with your email by clicking "Join the membership".
Buying Bomtoon Credits
Click on the Coin icon in the navigation bar.
Select the amount of credits you want, then choose "Overseas credit card" or PayPal as your payment method.
Agree to the terms and click Recharge.
A payment window will appear. Select "ENGLISH" within the popup window.
Complete the English-language form to add credits to your account. That's it!
Finding Manhwa Titles to Purchase
Series on Bomtoon are listed under their Korean titles, so searching the English name usually won't find anything.
- Look up the Korean title first. Google the English title plus "Korean title" or "manhwa", or check a fan wiki for the series, and copy the Korean name (written in Hangul). Then paste it into Bomtoon's search.
- If the title doesn't turn anything up, try the author's or artist's name in Korean.
- You can also browse. With the browser translator on, look through Bomtoon's genre and ranking pages to see what's popular.
- Check the cover art before you buy. The browser translator can turn Korean titles into odd English, so make sure it's the right series.

What if adult titles still don't show after I'm approved? First make sure you've toggled the "19" at the top bar to view adult content. If they still don't show, that's a known issue on Bomtoon's side. Send another 1:1 Inquiry with the type set to "Error". It usually gets fixed in 1-2 days.
